Merkinantoharjoitus - The Signaling Exercise

Yleistä

Tiedonvälitystekniikka I:n vaatimuksiin kuuluu seuraavien ISDN- ja SS7-merkinantoa käsittelevien opetusohjelmien läpikäyminen.

CCITT No. 7 Signalling System Part 1 (Fundamentals)
ISDN Advanced

Harjoitus tehdään 2-3 hengen ryhmissä teletekniikan laboratoriossa. Harjoitusten läpikäyntiin menee yhteensä noin 8 tuntia. Oppimisen kannalta kannattaa tutustua aluksi kirjalliseen materiaaliin, ja sitten suorittaa harjoitus esim. 2-4 tunnin erinä.

Harjoitus ja kirjallinen materiaali kuuluvat kurssin lopputentin alueeseen.

Mikäli tunnet e.m. opetuspaketit riittämättömäksi, käytettävissä on myös seuraavat opetusohjelmat:

ISDN Overview ( jos ISDN on sinulle aivan uusi asia )
CCITT No. 7 Signalling System Part 2 (Developments) (jos haluat tietää perusteita enemmän YKM:stä)

Ajan varaaminen

Laboratorion ilmoitustaululla on varauslista. Siitä voit varata itsellesi ja työparillesi 2-3 harjoituskertaa yhteensä enintään 8 tuntia. Harjoitus pitää suorittaa 24. huhtikuuta 1998 loppuun mennessä.

Työohje

Opetusohjelman voi suorittaa helpoimmin tutustumalla ensin kirjalliseen materiaaliin (50s ja 230s), jonka saa katsottavaksi assistentilta.

Harjoituksesta ja sen materiaalista kannattaa tehdä muistiinpanoja tenttiinluvun helpottamiseksi. Harjoituksesta ei tehdä kuitenkaan erillistä työselostusta.

Opetusohjelman voi ajaa Teletekniikan laboratoriossa, huoneessa SG 227b, harjoitukseen varatulla mikrolla. Kysy opetushenkilökunnalta opastusta, jos et ole varma mikä kone on kysessä. Ohjelma on yhden käyttäjän Win3.11-ohjelma, joten sitä voi ajaa vain yhdessä mikrossa kerrallaan.

Käynnistä mikro ja anna verkon käyttäjätunnus mikron päällä olevan ohjeen mukaisesti. Windowsin käynnistyttyä laita harjoituksen Student-levyke A:-asemaan. Levykkeen saat assistentilta.

Käynnistä ERICSSON-ohjelmaryhmästä tarvittava ohjelma, ja anna opetusohjelman käyttäjätunnus ja salasana Student-levykkeen päällä olevan ohjeen mukaisesti.

Harjoituskerran lopuksi palauta ohjekirja ja levykkeet opetushenkilökunnalle. Jos ketään ei ole paikalla, laita materiaali kurssin koodilla merkittyyn kaappiin ilmoitustaulun alla.

The signaling exercise (Computer Aided Learning) of S-38.110

Introduction

The course requirements for the course S-38.110 Switching Technology I include going through a computer program teaching about ISDN- and SS7-signalling systems. The required programs are:

CCITT No. 7 Signalling System Part 1 (Fundamentals)
ISDN Advanced

The material of these programs is required also in the final examination of the course S-38.110.

If your knowledge about ISDN or SS7 are not adequate you may go through also the programs:

ISDN Overview ( if you are not familiar with the basics of ISDN)
CCITT No. 7 Signalling System Part 2 (Developments) (if you want to know more about SS7)

Time reservation

Students are required to pair up to do the work. Only under force majeure-conditions it is allowed to go through the material alone.

To study and learn the material sufficiently enough one group will require approximately 8 hours. To ease up the learning process it is highly recommended to divide the workload to 2-4 hours / session.

The reservation lists are on the noticeboard of the lab. The exercise should be done to the 24th of April98.

Instructions

The easiest way to go through this exercise is to introduce in advance to the material of the program. The assistant has the material (50pgs ja 230pgs).

The work will be done in the room SG 227b of the Laboratory of Telecommunications Technology. There is a micro computer (PC) assigned specially and only for this exercise. Ask for instructions if you are not sure which computer you should use.

Power up the PC, and give for logon the username and password. After the Windows 3.11 has started put the appropriate Student Diskette into drive A:. The Student Diskette will be given by the assistant. Start the study program of your by choosing from the ERICSSON-program group.

Follow the instructions of the study program to go through it. The students should make notes about the material and about the exercise, because this exercise belongs to the final examination of the course S-38.110. No report is necessary to be written anyway.

After you have completed your session return the disks and the manuals to the lab personnel. If no-one is around return the material to the locker marked with the course code below the noticeboard.
