Research Environment

During year 1997 Helsinki University of Technology Laboratory of Telecommunications Technology Laboratory built up a research network for IP/ATM research. The network is not connected to outside world.

This is our logical network configuration at the moment. Addresses in italics are virtual.

The network consists of four Ipsilon IP switches and two Ipsilon ATM1600 ATM-switches.In addition the peripheral devices include two Sun workstations with Zeitnet IFMP-compatible NICs and measurements are made with Adtech AX/4000 and Radcom Prism.

Laboratory of Telecommunications Technology has infrastructure which consists tof hree switches and several peripheral equipment. Network was founded in 1994 when University decided to fund our laboratory development project. After that several projects have started in the area of ATM.
